#FollowFriday for Creative Entrepreneurs
is a weekly recommendation of who we think you should be following on
Twitter. It was started to give a bit of backstory behind why we follow
who we do.
As I write this, @problogger has 83,222 followers on Twitter. If you are a creative person building a business, here are three reasons why I think you should follow Darren Rowse.
1. Community Building
If you take a look at the problogger blog, you'll notice a link to the forum. Along with sharing great posts about professional blogging, Darren has also fostered a community of bloggers. Why is this important for your business? Because a group that gathers within your field (think knitters, writers, photographers, designers...) can be mobilized to do things on a grander scale than the same number of individuals acting separately. What kinds of things? Promoting, marketing, advertising, buying ... shall I go on? Follow @problogger and see how he builds community.
2. Monetizing
It's estimated that the Problogger blog will make over $14 million this year. Want to know how he does it? Follow him on Twitter - he continually shares his money-making strategies.
3. Authenticity
Though he doesn't share private information, he does use personal stories to connect with his readers. He gets to do what he does by being himself. Which is something that I know appeals to creative entrepreneurs.
So if you aren't one of the 83,000+ people already following @problogger on Twitter, you may want to start.
